Programme
The IPCNC Conference 2026 offers a rich and diverse programme designed to inform, inspire, and connect infection prevention and control professionals across Aotearoa. Over three days, delegates will experience:
Programme outline
Day 1: Wednesday 26 August
The conference registration desk will open at 7:00am with the mihi whakatau and conference opening at 8:30am.
Day 1 will conclude with a Welcome Function.
Day 2: Thursday 27 August
The IPCNC AGM and Breakfast will commence at 7:30am, with conference sessions starting at 8:50am.
Day 2 concludes at approximately 4:30pm, followed by pre-dinner drinks at 5:30pm and the Conference Dinner at 6:30pm.
Day 3: Friday 28 August
Day 3 commences at 8:30am and will conclude no later than 3:00pm.
A detailed programme schedule will be released closer to the event.

The Infection Prevention and Control Nurses College (IPCNC) invites submissions for oral and poster presentations submissions for the 2026 Conference.
Our theme is “Lights, Camera, Prevention!”
This references Wellington’s innovative movie making industry, and showcases infection control from around the motu, as well as globally.
Your infection prevention and control paper/poster can be based on innovation in Leadership; IPC programme and implementation; AMS; surveillance of healthcare associated infections; and in managing the environment
This is your opportunity to share your knowledge, research, and innovations with colleagues from across Aotearoa and beyond. We welcome contributions that reflect the evolving challenges and opportunities in infection prevention and control across all healthcare and community settings.
